Trauma is an unfortunate part of everyday life, in many different degrees. It can disguise itself in many ways, often taking the body as a hostage and leaving a disconnection between mind and body.

As an energy modality, Trauma Touch TherapyTM will help to bridge that gap through a noninvasive, bodywork-centered approach which allows you, the client, to control the pace and direction of each session.

Trauma Touch TherapyTM is ideal for someone seeking psychotherapy, but is not required. While some discussion is involved during Trauma Touch TherapyTM, it is important to note that I am not a psychotherapist and this is not a substitution for counseling.

The initial consultation involves a comprehensive intake form. This intake is done verbally and helps us both to determine if Trauma Touch TherapyTM is the right fit for you. All information provided during this session, and every session, is confidential and at your discretion as to how much you are disclosing. If we decide to move forward with the rest of the sessions, we will spend a portion of this initial visit discussing your goals and possible scenarios we may encounter in the next weeks to accomplish those goals.

Trauma Touch TherapyTM is typically done in 10 weekly sessions. Session length varies on an individual basis, but typically runs from 60-90 minutes.

During the remainder of your journey we will focus on:

  • Creating healthy and strong boundaries

  • Certain tools you can use to prevent trigger responses and remain grounded in
    stressful situations

  • Breathwork

  • The ability to stay present, therefore creating a deepening body awareness

  • Sensations felt within the body, rather than feelings. Shifting the focus in this direction will help to prevent re-traumatization.

  • Light touch and movement exercises may be included in some sessions

  • New avenues to experience more joy and to live life as a confident and authentic individual

  • Bridging mind-body gaps that may develop from chronic dissociation

Ultimately, we are not curing your trauma, rather allowing you to bring these traumas into focus, accepting the fact that it’s happened, learning to forgive these unfortunate events, and then learning to release them from having any effect on your life in the future.

Due to the pandemic/post pandemic world we live in, self care has become a vital necessity. While massage therapy in general holds many physical, mental and spiritual benefits, our training in Trauma Touch Therapy can help you go even deeper into helping you heal traumas, anxieties, and more from the past year, or even longer. Because we believe in this unique modality so much & know there is a great need for compassionate, safe healing environments in the crazy world we live in, Trauma Touch Therapy will be offered on a sliding scale basis until further notice. While our normal price is $120 per session, & is typically (yet not always) done in 10 sessions, we will be offering this service sliding between $30 and $120 based off of what you can afford. We are still fighting through unprecedented times, let us help you facilitate your healing without the added stress of breaking the bank.
